Celebrate and honor what your loved ones mean to you at these special gatherings. Please register one week in advance. The Valentine event honors spouses, partners and sweethearts who have died. Please bring photographs of your loved ones to share, and receive a heart ornament to celebrate your love.

Matters of the Heart Gala

A classy, yet welcoming fundraising event, the Matters of the Heart Gala supports Horizon's Grief Resource Center, which makes a loving difference in the lives of grieving individuals in our community. General tickets include valet parking, admission, 3-course dinner with wine and entertainment. VIP tickets include the same amenities as a general ticket, plus admission to the pre-gala Touchingn Lives Reception on the 23rd floor with complimentary drinks and gourmet cuisine. The overnight package includes two general admission tickets plus one standard king room at The Pfister, overnight parking for one vehicle, complimentary breakfast for two on Sunday morning at The Cafe Pfister and a special Matters of the Heart amenity gift bag.

Life Lights

Hosted by Horizon, Life Lights is an annual event held to support and raise funds for Horizon's hospice and home care needs while providing a memorable evening for the entire community to honor and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones. Life Lights is dedicated to extending Horizon's compassion, support and celebration of the human spirit to the patients, families, friends and communities we serve. Life Lights is a joyful memorial event dedicated to bringing the community together for support and celebration of lost loved ones as part of the continuation of the healing process.

• It's an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones
• You have the freedom to grieve surrounded by a community of mutual understanding and support
• You'll be exposed to others who have also experienced loss in a comforting, empathetic and joyous environment

Join us for this educational workshop to help you begin to plan and prepare for the future. Please register for this event by February 20, 2013. A minimum of three participants is required to run this workshop. This free financial workshop is presented by AXA Advisors.

"Consider the Conversation is a remarkable, thought-provoking film that looks at many of the issues that we will all face at the end-of-life. It opens the floodgates of thought and conversation on this most difficult and often taboo subject. It helps to illustrate many areas of improvement in our health care system. I would encourage everyone to watch this important film including physicians, healthcare workers, patients and families. This film will help us to be better physicians, better nurses, better patients and better people." -James Roberts, M.D., Medical Director, Mayo Clinic Health System-Home Health & Hospice This film examines multiple perspectives on end-of-life care and includes information and experiences gathered from interviews with patients, family members, doctors, nurses, clergy, social workers and national experts from around the country. This event includes a light luncheon at 11:00 a.m., screening at 11:30 a.m. and a panel discussion at 12:30 p.m. with representatives from Horizon Home Care & Hospice including Dr. Katie Denson, Kira Testin, RN and Katie Tiefenthaler, CAPSW and Kelly Andrew, Director of Development. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
